Great movie

I really liked this movie and had forgotten all about until a buddy of mine was telling me how his stock car needed more torque. I started singing the song from the movie and he just looked at me like I had lost my mind. A quick search and I found it on DVD for six bucks! Maury Chaykin's portrayal of Desmond Howl was nothing short of genius, and Cynthia Preston did a fine job as well....I could go on and on but I won't. Watch this movie.

I second that. It's been on my list of favourites for years.

Chaykin was good, and the Rheos music was fantastic, actual real music by a real band instead of getting some session bullsh*t crap that would sound generic. However the rest isn't very good and unfortunately screams low budget canadian acting. Most of the dialogue is terrible and delivered poorly (do people speak like that?) and a lot of the tensions contrived. Worth it to hear Martin Tielli make his guitar sound like a whale.
