I've got to go with the obvious and say Stu was my favorite character. He was the one who really got to me through the whole movie. Even though the film is techinically about the sister's interpretation of the events see as in everything is seen through her eyes, the main story really is about Stu and his expierences. I first saw this movie when i was 12 and I loved it. It brought me to tears. I just watched it again (10 year later) and was still very touched my the film. The aspects of it that really touch me all revolve around Stu's character and how he changes and grows. Great film.

And...those were my TWO CENTS proudly presented...

i loved little billy.........and when he overdosed on ice cream, that was great.

Stu Simmons, (Elijah Wood) is too adorable in the film. Ebb Lipnicki, (Lucas Black) gives those evil stares with a smile that is so cute and funny at the same time. Elvadine, (LaToya Chisholm) her attitude made the movie!

I'm Chris Fennell. I played Billy Lipnicky in The War.
Regardless of whether or not I was your favorite character,
I'm glad you all watched and enjoyed the film.
I know we had a blast filming it. I was 9 yrs old at the
time of filming, and it was my first film.
It was a truly wonderful experience, as with all the
other films I've done. I cant wait for my daughter to
get old enough to watch it. Well... thanks again everyone.
Take care, and best wishes.

It's really hard to say who my favorite's were. I just loved the movie so much. I do have favorite parts-Billy over dosing on the ice cream and Elvadine telling off her teacher. My kids are starting to watch this movie and understand what it's about.

Chris Fennell (if that's really you up there anyway), you did a marvelous job in the War. I love that movie, and I especially love Billy.

Gotta agree with Megsicle! (Though there are lots of people who pose as actors on boards, so whop can be sure :S)

But my total favourite was Elvadine. Just loved her, especially when that teacher (who scared me witless by the way, God, what a witch!) was giving her grief. I statred applauding her! :D Gotta love her! But Stu has a place in my heart too. :)

Goat: Where's the dipstick?
Steve: I'm lookin' at it.

Thanks Megsicle. I really appreciate that.

I have more than one favorite, I liked Stu, Elvadine, Amber, Lidia, and Billy. I liked Billy because he was the only one out of the Lipnickis that was nice and friendly.

"Make 'em think you got diaper rash! How bout it?!"

I love this movie. My sister and I quote this movie all the time. Her daughter-in-law just bet her that Ebb is also in Slingblade and Fast and Furious. I can't believe she didn't believe her!

Billy, I loved your character as well. The Lipnickis made the movie.

God Bless your little girl. She's gonna love you in this movie.

I'd have to say Stu. But the entire cast was amazing!

Respect people's opinions. Have an open mind. Don't feed the trolls. And, We'll all get along fine.

ELIJAH WOOD 4 SURE>>HE'S THE BEST<<

Stu was great, of course. However, Id have to say, I loved the role of Ebb, played by Lucas Black. He was cocky and tough, and Ive known little kids like that. He is a wise guy. I love it when his older brothers are trying to talk one of the younger kids to swim across the water inside the tower and he says to the big brother, "Whats the matter big fella, You scared?" Or something like that.

id have to say lidea.she was so cool i just loved her<3

I loved Stu. He was my absolute favorite, ofcourse back then I had an Elijah Wood thing so...
I also loved the three girls, Lydia, Elvadine and Amber. I also liked the mom who's name is slipping my mind right now.

Edit: The mothers name was Lois!

Lipinicki's especially the 2 older twin like brothers. Villains typically stir the drink for me.
I think their portrayal was spot on professional even though they hadn't acted before or
Since. I always wanted to see a film or show give more screen time to characters like them, but
Not necessarily Wrong Turn or Deliverance. Their interaction and versatility when the old neighbor threatens to call the cops because of all the noise in the junk yard made them multidimensional and intriging to me. Do they quite school, raise a family, make friends ? are all
Aspects I would be interested in seeing.

Elvadine, because she was so bossy. And even more so in the way she read that poem in her class ending it by saying 'life is a bowl full of... -the four letter word for human feces-...' I have loved that movie since i first saw it on
Starz....

Elvadine went on my nerves. She tried to boss everyone, even her teacher, who was a b*tch alright but still, there are better ways to get your message across than being "mouthy" and talking in a hood manner. Lidia was so sympathetic and cute and her brother was a sympathetic character as well. And of course Costner's character is just great, he's got so much integrity and character strength. And the way he died, why he died, its really...man! As heroic and noble as it can be. This movie really affected me emotionally. I still think about it today.

Oh and btw, Lucas Black as Ebb was really good and unforgettable, that little sadist. And the scene where Costner gives him and his naughty sister cotton candy was also really good. Costner's character reminds me of my dad, rest his soul. He was the kind of person who always thought about making others feel good and happy. I really miss him sometimes, even though he has been gone for nearly 7 years.

My theory on Feds is that they're like mushrooms: feed them *beep* keep them in the dark.
