Bad Ratings?

27% on eat rotten tomatoes and a decent 6.7 on imdb but this movie I thought was better then that. Maybe like a 7.2 on imdb but the 27% on rotten tomatoes surpruses me the most. This movie is not that bad. There is way worse movies that got better rating s from critics. Just goes to show that critics dont know what the audience likes. Saw it when I was like 16 when it first came out and it really had an impact on me emotionally and loved the story. Thought maybe it was a movie kids loved and maybe adults thought was stupid but rewatched it recently on HBO Go and still loved it.
