She's absolutely right. It was a schmaltzy, sentimental and trite telling of what should have been an intriguing story. The kid who played the abused child just seemed slightly temperamental instead of being highly disturbed.
shareAnd so do I. I didn't like the movie at all and thought it was simply an overdramatized disaster. That was why I didn't provide the title or any identifying information about the book because the film has nothing to do with the book; author, or those whom it is about.
shareif they were gunna base it on the book they should hav stuck to the book!and only change a few minor details if they had to but they changed alot and it ended up a *beep* film. the book is so much better. this movie was ment to be about one child but it isnt after they changed most the key imfo, it has nothing to do witth the book.
