DVD Versions: R or Unrated?

I bought a copy of the Aswang DVD which is labeled as Unrated on the cover, but on the DVD itself it says R Rated version. Which version did I have?

I contacted Mondo Macabro directly and asked how I could find out. Here is the answer:

"Basically there was a print error on the disc. If you have a disc that has lots of extra features - making of/commentaries etc et then you have the full uncut version."

So there you have it.

I had posted this question right here on IMDB as well before I contacted them, and I think my research may further helps others in the confusion over which DVD they have. So I've reprinted it below.

*****

I was a bit confused as to the R vs Unrated DVD releases. Did an R version ever come out on DVD?

The running time is 1 hour 22 minutes and there there is about 30 seconds of black at the end.

I see the running time listed all over the place on websites:

- IMDB has it at 82 minutes, CD Universe has it the unrated version at 90 minutes (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6032883)

- Tower Records doesn't have running time but it DOES say the Unrated versions Catalog number is 102 where as mine says 102R (could the R mean an R rating??) There is no catalog number for the R version on the Tower site. (http://www.towerrecords.com/Video/Default.aspx?search_in=dvd&oft=aswang&free_text=aswang&;)

- Bestprices.com has the R Rated version listed at 82 minutes (http://www.bestprices.com/cgi-bin/vlink/634991158329.html)

- RottenTomatoes.com has the Unrated version listed as BOTH 90 minutes and 82 minutes depending on which column you read. (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/aswang/dvd.php)

- MOST IMPORTANTLY, TLA Video where I got my copy has the Unrated version listed as 82 minutes. (http://tlavideo.com/details/product_details.cfm?id=196438&v=1&sn=2186&enable=true)

- MOST TELLING? Very interesting, one library website says their box has it listed as Unrated, but on the DVD itself it says it's rated R and has the same catalog number as mine, MOD102R (http://ipac.vpl.ca/ipac20/ipac.jsp?index=BIB&term=1324992)

Hmmmmmmmm....
