At the part where the asian martial arts master comes in to tell about the styles, and gives the list of 3 people in America he only knows.. Did all 3 seriously happen to be in that one town or did they off-screen travel across the entire country?

That's the beauty of this movie.

They try to make the simple minded half-ass plot seem like it had credibility. There is no way that guy knew exactly how many people knows that style and where to find them in the first place.

Therefore, the fact that all three of them live in that same small town is just icing on the cake for more comedy.
