Worth it?

is it worth seeing this movie?

I read the book and loved it, not to mention that PĂ©rez-Reverte is my favorite author and I've read about a half dozen of his novels. I'm really only interested in seeing it, though, if it stays somehow true to the book's plot which was excellent. I liked the Ninth Gate (let's say 'loosely' based off of El Club Dumas), however more as a movie on its own than an accurate representation of the novel.

May I offer you a suggestion? Read a book and enjoy it. Watch a movie and enjoy it. If the latter happens to derive from a book don't compare them. It is virtually impossible to translate any book into a movie without adaptation and with adaption comes poetic license. I can think of only one movie based on a book that was presented in toto without adaptation and that was Kenneth Branaugh's Hamlet (380 minutes long): Word for word it was true to the play on which it was based. Adaption is fine as long as the film manages to keep the spirit of the original book. That the spirt is often lost in most adaptations is unfortunate. I've not read the book on which Uncovered is based. I can only tell you that if found it enjoyable because I came to care aboutthe characters, and, I thought the premise unique, interesting, and a lot of fun.
