Will this ever see the light of day on Blu-ray?
At this moment it's only on DVD, and whereas Im updating my DVDs to Blu-ray and going all Blu-Ray from now on, this is on my list. But bluray.com doesn't have a listed release date.

It's on the way.
shareIs it? That's good to hear, the dvd doesn't look good on 4K tvs.
shareIt's already available in an obsolete HD format (DTheater), so that might tide you over until the bluray.
shareThere's a lot of bad artifacting on the DVD, the transfer looks very dated(possibly a laserdisc master considering this is an early DVD) although it doesn't sound bad.
shareThis aged well 🤣

Forget bluray, it's time for a UHD 4k release. True Lies is the absolute worst dvd I still own in terms of picture quality and audio.
James Cameron is one weird guy to keep holding out on this.
True Lies could've been a masterpiece but the line "she's got an ass like a 10 year old boy" is so perverted and gross that it almost ruined the whole movie. Because of that poorly chosen and inappropriate line, it doesn't ever deserve a blu-ray release....unless of course, that disgusting line is edited out of the future blu-ray version.
shareErr… the character’s a pervert who you are supposed to find repulsive so correct your perspective and stand down.
shareIts one of the most bizarre lines of dialogue I've ever heard in a blockbuster type of movie. As a kid I didnt understand what the heck he meant. Years later as an adult, its just bizarre and Im perplexed even further why they wrote that dialogue???
The guy was repulsive enough without him saying this line.
It out on Blu Ray now
shareMaybe in foreign countries but not in the US.
shareWell you can buy it on eBay, that’s where I got mine
shareExcept if you don't have a region free bluray player, it is useless.
shareThe copy I have is region free and I have two region free Blu Ray players
shareI found a copy on Ebay and damn it's good to watch this movie again. I'll definitely get if it on 4k if it ever gets a release.
shareUnlikely. Cameron has become a woke pussy and True Lies is uncomfortably accurate in its portrayal of jihadists, plus he took some shit for the ‘sexist’ portrayal of Lee Curtis’ inept housewife. He seems to have decided that this and The Abyss are insufficiently woke to be allowed HD or UHD releases.
You will watch his tedious eco-Smurf films and you will love them or else.
