20 years on and only ONE review and NO comments?

Was surprised at the paucity of reviews and comments on this movie. The lone reviewer did an excellent job, as I had seen "Dog Day" and could easily make the analogy. I urge anyone interested to read it. I thought Richard Thomas did one Helluva job, while the rest of the cast, including the kids did as well.

Wendy Crewson did such a great job that even though I knew it was a movie, I wanted to b!tch slap her into reality.

The ending was a bit of a surprise, as it didn't turn out the way Hollywood usually handles these situations.

Robert Urich was in it as well, but I was on a cruise when they did a remake of the "Love Boat" and he was aboard. Off hours, a youngster came up to him and asked for an autograph and was told "I don't do autographs". You could see the disappointment on the kid's face. After that, the deflectors go up when he appears in a scene.

(Semi-spoiler) I haven't read the book it was based on yet but the title surely was apt.

They do updates on the site and drop old and inactive threads. But why are you suprised that a 20 year old made for TV movie has no attention?

Forgot about the "purging", but there ARE some 20+ year old movies that still generate interest.

To Save the Children is probably one of the most underrated TV movies out there. Considering its budget, I thought the filmmakers did an excellent job. The acting, the soundtrack, the built-up intensity and suspense, it was all very well-made for what it was and I'm surprised that it isn't more popular. It has been done again in 2015 though, a film called 'The Cokeville Miracle' was made two months ago based on the same true story and I haven't seen it yet.

It will be interesting to make the comparison.

Definitely, I can't wait for it to be released on DVD or VHS so I can compare them both

I've just watched this for the first time. A very intense movie. Richard Thomas played a disturbed man very well. I'd always seen him in a totally sympathetic part before in more sentimental movies. An example of this is 'Wild Hearts' (2006) which I saw just recently. It's the second day running that I have watched Wendy Crewson. She was Mac the lesbian in 'An Unexpected Love' on TV yesterday. I liked her character. I can't gather whether she sacrificed herself in this one. One of the teachers seemed to silently pleading with her just before the explosion.
