I think Double Team is enjoyable personally, but that's not really a film I can defend haha.
shareHe's probably got a few watchable movies out there since the ones mentioned above, but this guy use to be a bankable star. After These movies, he started working with Dennis Rodman and eventually straight to DVD. Now I think he works at Walmart. lol

Maximum Risk was better than this, but all the others after Timecop were awful.

Looking at his IMDB now, there are literally dozens of straight to DVD movies and I have to wonder if any of them are hidden gems.
Personally, I hate seeing him look old, as he was handsome in his youth but didn't age well.
The guy drinks a lot, and got beaten up by his own bodyguard for being an asshole. He and Jan-Michael Vincent (Airwolf, The World’s Greatest Athlete) were (are?) Olympic-level lushes. I used to tell a joke: “Jean-Claude van Damme and Jan-Michael Vincent walk into a bar. Three weeks later, they crawl out.” Not good for one’s looks. Or for anything else. It is a shame.

I've always had a soft spot for Timecop. I've just finished watching in on Blu-Ray. It's on a double header along with my favorite Van Damme film Blood Sport. I did buy it for both films though.
Timecop marks the spot for the height of Van Damme's career. He was on a downward slop after Timecop. He still continued to make some money for a few years after Timecop. He never reached the heights of Time Cop ever again.
It made over $100 million with a budget of $27 million. It's his only film which broke over $100 million with Van Damme as the lead. Although Street Fighter came close to the $100 million mark, but it's budget was higher than Timecop's.
I always considered it to be his ONLY good movie.
