For anyone whos read the Twilight book series...

This was a favorite childhood movie of mine, and I was watching it again a few days ago. Prince Cornelius really reminded me of Edward from Twilight. They are both physically similiar, similiar hair cut and color and build. Also, he reminded me of Edward the way he took ordinary Thumbelina and lifts her up into magic fairy world. (vampire world in the case of twilight.) not to mention the whole creepy watching-from-the-window thing. dont know if im being silly or if anyone else see's the similiarities. (:

although i do agree that when i was obsessed with twilight i thought Cornelius reminded me of edward. But thats the problem with twilight characters, the books are crap, the grammar is crap, blah blah blahhh (not going into a twilight rant) the only reason why twilight is so popular is because all the characters have no personalites and blank canvas that people project their own personalities onto, stephanie meyer should have taken a page from hans christian anderson, and given her characters better personalites, but looks wise yerr i guess Cornelius has the same likeless to Edward:)

Oh my gosh! I thought I was the only one who saw the similarities... yes, when I first started reading Twilight I pictured Edward much like Cornelious in my mind

Yknow it's funny you should say that, because I always imagined Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter as looking like Prince Cornelius, and of course Robert Pattinson went on to play both him and Edward Cullen.

haha that is so funny, I just came here to say the same thing!! As soon as I saw Cornelius' sparkling green eyes I was like OME! I see Twilight in everything tho, I have serious Obsessive Cullen Disorder!

LOL I won't read Twilight but from what I know...isn't Edward all angsty and sort of a jerk or something? And bloodthirsty? I thought Cornelius was....a nice guy.... XD

yeah- he's angsty and abusive (but Meyer often covers it up by saying 'he does it for Bella) It's just maybe his haircut is like Cornelius

Exactly how is Prince Cornelius like Gayward? Cornelius is everything Edward is not. He's noble for one, and he actually cares about saving Thumbelina and is actually in love with her. Edward is controlling, overbearing, mentally and emotionally unstable, selfish, abusive, let's not forget that he's a big time stalker and only likes Bella because he can't read her mind and loves the smell of her blood. Twitards PLEASE DO NOT ruin the beauty and magic of Thumbelina. Don't lump it in with the crap that is Twilight!

definitely agree.
also, when Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire came out, my first thoughts on Robert Pattinson was that he would have to be Cornelius from the cartoon if it were ever live-actioned (really, really hope it never is).
so yeah, reminds me of Edward Cullen and Robert Pattinson, separately
