I've done it. It can be messy but lots of fun! Of course one has to consider the implication/s on a current relationship (it could ruin it, then again it could be a good thing, who knows?). I'm more interested in a threesome relationship rather than a once-off thing, which I've participated in in the past.

I agree completely! Its odd unless you're single/not serious. A threesome relationship would be ridiculously interesting. Fascinatign idea- I could see most of the rpoblems of onvetional relaitonsips wiped out that way.

STOP DRINKING snd POSTING!

although alcohol is a great social lubricant for threesomes

If Josh Charles were involved, yes. I could do without Stephen Baldwin, though. I'd have to replace him with John Cusack. I would definitely be the meat in that sandwich.

Seriously, though, I was present at a party where a threesome went down in the next room between three of my friends. It was a straight guy, a girl he was casually doing every once in a while, but not really dating, and a gay guy. A lot like the movie. From what I was told, the gay guy only got to even touch the other guy for a couple of minutes. All I know is the straight guy popped out of the room stark naked and tried to get me to come into the room with them. I was like, "Uh, no thanks." The gay guy was (and still is) my best friend, so that would have been uber weird. And things strained between the two guys after that.

It's interesting to note that the girl who was involved in that later went on to date another woman.

Ha ha, funny!

if i EVER did...though i think the time for that boat has sailed in my life...it would have to be two men so that i could be the center of attention...no other sluts allowed.

do you like fish sticks?

reply

right so the gay guy feels left out.

reply

hell yes

reply

In my opinion, it's not worth it. It's weird and can be really awkward. I prefer just a one on one with someone I am really into.

I would never have guessed that true romance and Detroit would ever go together.

reply

never. i would have a hard time respecting myself after. i only have sex with someone i'm in love with.

for me sex is about intimacy not just orgasm. and even if it was all for pleasure the third will always feel left out. straight sex 1 penis to one vagina. gay sex corresponds similarly. what is the third person supposed to do just watch?

reply

> what is the third person supposed to do just watch?

Use your imagination. All three wouldn't need to be active at once. It's all a matter of sharing and trying out interesting new ideas.

Your comment seems to indicate that you are very rigid in how you think about sex. I'm guessing you are very "by the book" and won't tolerate anything unusual. It's just in and out and that's all.

i adore oral and different positions. i wouldnt try anal because doctors reccomend against it, and i'd prefer to hold in my poop 40 yrs from now.

i wouldnt want a threeway. i just doesnt seem fun. i wouldnt want to sleep with anyone i wasnt in love with. why does that make me rigid?

reply

> i wouldnt want a threeway. i just doesnt seem fun.

I'll assume that you like sex. It's hard to imagine that anyone who does like sex wouldn't like twice as much. I can't think of anything that I like that I wouldn't want to have twice as much.

> i wouldnt want to sleep with anyone i wasnt in love with.

If you view sex as a fun activity, then you should be able to have fun doing it with anyone. It would be like playing tennis or chess. Now, I'll grant you that tennis or chess is more enjoyable with someone you love.

To quote from the movie itself, "Sex is like pizza. When it's bad it's still pretty good."

In the end it all comes down to whether you enjoy sex or see it as something you have to do.

Threesomes are great but you have to be relaxed and have good chemistry with the group so if you can't cope with that your better off not attempting.

What's all this about "the gay guy", as though it's a given?

Yes, I know one of the *characters* in the movie was gay, but you can just as easily have a threesome involving two straight guys.

reply

THANK YOU. I was just thinking the same while reading trough all the comments.

To answer the OP question, yes, I wouldn't mind joining in a threesome. It'd be fun as long as you aren't emotionally involved with any of the other two.

It's been a fantasy of mine to have one with two guys (i'm a straight female), but I have never done it and probably never will. I just couldn't have one with another girl and a guy. It would have to be two guys for me.

And to the person who says they need intimacy. Who says a threesome can't involve intimacy? It obviously did in this movie, and I am sure it could in other situations as well.

I've done threesomes before, and they were a lot of fun. I think it's important, though, that everyone involved is enthusiastic about the idea and there is more or less an equal amount of attention paid to everyone. It sucks to be the odd person out, so imagine how especially suck-y it is when someone feels excluded during an intimate act. And if two of the three people would rather just be alone together, then there really isn't a point to the threesome.

reply

With two girls. Yes.

reply

It depends on the details. I would want to be the center of attention, of course. And I would not want to jeopardize a serious relationship.
