Originally written for Tom Cruise, the spec script sold for $500, 000.
William Baldwin was briefly considered for the lead.
The final stunt - with Sheen at the wheel of a sports car falling to earth - was a mixture of bluescreen and clever camera work as a real car was suspended beneath a helicopter and then a reverse zoom made it seem as if it was falling free.
I wonder if the box office result for this movie would have been better with Tom Cruise. I always like to think that it's the movies fault. Not Charlie Sheen's.
"No, I shot him. Bullets and the fall killed him!"
Funny you should say so, cause this movie had a pretty huge budget. It feels like a Bruckenhimer/Bay production a`la "Con Air" and "The Rock", but according to people this one bombed. This is not Sheens fault, this one failed cause it competed with "The Mask, "Pulp Fiction" and "Ace ventura".
One thing I learn from this movie.#(:-b)> A falling car at terminal velocity resumes accelerating & make classic airplane-in-distress sounds during the last 15 seconds of its descent. lol
If I'm wrong if I don't & wrong if I do, you're having your cake & eating it too.
