Has anyone ever seen the r-rated version of this film?
If so, where/how?
The German FSK-18 (not under 18) VHS tape is based on the R-rated version and it's definitely longer and gorier than the PG-13 US version.
However, I'm not sure if it's exactly the same as the intended R-rated version.
Has anyone actually seen the R-rated version?
Edit: Apparently, the long out-of-print Hong Kong DVD contains the uncut R-rated version. I'll try to locate it.

Well actually, I did read somewhere that the R Rated version was aired a long time ago on TV. I can't remember where I read that. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for it!!
Scenes I read about:
- The bully character's head is graphically torn off his body.
- The bodybuilder who's stepped on was actually more bloody.
- The mad doctor is graphically bitten in half by Michael.
Those are just a few scenes I read about.

What are the different time codes? I'm doing a bit of hunting for this.. did you say the german version is uncut (ie includes the gore)?

Okay, I think I've found it. It is in italian audio, but so far there are quite a few bits of gore (the little scientist when Paul Rex first activates gets his head bitten off and he runs away into a stack of boxes. You do not see the Jock scientist get squished before the phone scene though). Here is the link:
