Why kill Gary Busey first?

Doc Hawkins was the most interesting one of the hunters, i mean we get to know his backstory and find out why he sorta is the way he is now. Plus Gary Busey gives such a great performance, the scene where he tells the story about killing his dog was just amazing, Oscar worthy performance without a doubt.

But then right when the hunt begins they kill him off right off the bat. It still baffles me to this day that they killed him off so quick. Hawkins seemed like the most unstable psychotic one of the bunch, definitely the most entertaining, i just would have loved to see him live a little longer and be the last one left with Burns instead of Mr Wolf.

Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.

I agree. He should have been there until the end with Rutger Hauer. Still a good movie though.

I still don't understand why they had Wolf survive so long right up until the end. I mean his character never really stood out to me, he wasn't really that interesting. Doc Hawkins would have been a much better choice to be the last guy left with Burns.

I think the reason Wolfe survived so long is because they wanted to show the dynamic between he and his son (who was against what they were doing). So from that perspective, I can understand why he survived for so long. And the actor playing Wolfe was in Scarface, so he wasn't that bad.

Who knows, maybe they only had Busey for a couple of days on the set, and that's why he was killed off so quickly?

He was the biggest psycho of them all. Wanted first blood and he got it!

Agreed. Tbh, while I love FMA, I thought for sure it'd be Busey & Hauer at the end against Ice-T. Still love this flick. 

That dog story is great. I have it memorized and often screw around with people I am just meeting by telling them that story as if it were my own, sometimes around the dinner table just like the film. I have not had a single person realize I was quoting this film(I guess its obscure enough) or think i was bullsh!tting them. Quite the contrary in fact, they are engrossed and amazed. When I tell them I was speaking in jest later(usually once someone brings it up again afterwards) they get a huge kick out of it.

Great ice breaker.

Hahah that's great ! I wouldn't even be able to keep a straight face ! Especially when I told them I named the dog Prince Henry Stout ! ????

I do change it as a go a bit, especially since I do not have scar on my face, but I always keep the name.

Hahaha ! I wish I could get through that story without laughing !
