We shouldn't lament Raul Julia being in this film.

Many complain that this corny film was Raul's last film and therefore a bad way for him to go out.

But I say don't judge the man by his last film.
Judge him by all of his films. And he left a tremendous legacy of films behind him.

As for this film, it didn't look like Raul was having a problem being in this film. If anything he looked like he was having a BALL!

Apparently, he did the movie as a "gift" for his grandchildren.

Raul's performance in this film was really fun and memorable, he was the best thing in this entertaining cornball cheesefest.

Is it his best contribution to the art of cinema? Nobody can say, as art is wholly subjective. What he did do in his last role is make a lot of people gleefully happy, and he's cherished in the role for that reason. That's not a bad epitaph at all.

For us it was his worst movie ever, for him It was Tuesday

Raul Julia in Street Fighter, Peter Cushing in Biggles - both great performers who went out on a not-so-high note, but a decent note nonetheless. :)

I would say it's a fine note to go on. He understood what kind of movie he was making and seemed to have fun with the role. There's worse ways to earn a final paycheck.
