I just got the Scorpions original Virgin Killer album and Lanie looks nothing like that chick on the cover, infact i'm pretty sure i could get arrested just for having the album cover in my house.
Klaus was outraged over that cover. The record label stabbed them in the back and released that kiddie porn cover without their permission just to boost sales.
I heard of one guy that got 20 years in Florida's finest when the cops discovered that photo in his house. Be careful.
Actually, this is the only mistake in the movie that kinda bothers me because it could have been easily avoided: Why do they keep calling the album "Virgin Killers" if it was called "Virgin Killer"?? Of course, I spent hours on investigations a few years back trying to find out if this record really existed and the only thing I came up with was the Scorpions record with no chick on the cover. It wasn't until the audio commentary that I found out there was a different version of the album.
(OK, the fact that the guys seem to drool over a naked child who, to make things even weirder, doesn't look like Lainie at all, might be slightly disturbing but after all you can't take it too seriously..)
I think they allow that picture under some artistic merit or something. I mean look up the album on Wikipedia and you see the picture right there. It's not like it's some supernaked.underagehotnakegirl.cx website that only certain pervs know about, it's on freaking Wikipedia!
I heard of one guy that got 20 years in Florida's finest when the cops discovered that photo in his house. Be careful. < That's probably an urban legend, cause there is nothing anywhere on this vast net about that at all.
They probably referred to the album as "Virgin Killers" so they wouldn't be responsible for promoting any form of child porn. If they would have said "Virgin Killer" as the album is called, maybe they could have got sued. After all, they are talking about "the chick on the cover", right? Who knows?
Some people put an "s" on the end of things that don't need it. Like one of my ex-girlfriends used to call Red Lobster "Red Lobsters", which drove me nuts.
Haha, that's true! Just like this singer I used to know - he also referred to Amoeba on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood as "Amoeba's". He was from the South, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it...
I have a very hard time believing that any judge would give out that kind of a sentence to someone just for having in his possession an infamous album cover. Does "Blind Faith" (1969) fall into the same category?
I always thought that was the album they meant. I figured it was another mistake. Having said that, I think the quote mentioning "Virgin Killer" (or "Virgin Killers" as they say) sounds better.
