the death of Enterprise refit and Enterprise D

which had the more emotional scene? I would say Star Trek III

seeing Enterprise burning up over Genesis with James Horners soundtrack in the back ground

ENterprise D does have some impact in its destruction, seeing Picard and Riker walk around the wrecked bridge

Star Trek III, easily. Kirk and his crew actually cared about their ship. So did the audience. We felt Kirk and his crew's pain when the ship burned like a falling star across the sky of the Genesis Planet. People can nitpick whether or not the story adequately supported Kirk's need to destroy the Enterprise, but no one can argue the power of the scene, driven home by James Horner's beautiful music. It was also nice that they didn't get another starship immediately in Star Trek IV The Voyage Home. We were left to wonder what was going to happen before the final moments revealed a new Enterprise A, which also meant something, not only to Kirk and his crew, but the audience as well. It's too bad that Star Trek V The Final Frontier made the mistake of playing Enterprise A for comedy relief, making it a piece of crap where nothing worked. Who thought that was a good idea? At least we got to see Enterprise in all of her glory one last time in Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country.

Star Trek Generations had one of the dumbest space battles I have ever seen. It was a lot of really great special effects and I do applaud ILM for the work they did on the sequence, but the writing just didn't support the ship's demise, not in a way that showed any emotion. The crew didn't seem to care, and Picard was even rather nonchalant about it all. This attitude was reinforced in Star Trek First Contact when Picard made that comment about there being plenty of letters left in the alphabet when they set the Enterprise E to self-destruct. Back to Generations, the only scene I thought was well played and showed any real emotion was when Data found his cat, Spot. Out of all the missed opportunity regarding Data having emotions, this scene nailed it.

And dude, not to be ugly, but get rid of those stupid signatures that express your sexual fetish for being chained up and all that sh*t. It makes you sound really juvenile.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

It's not funny, nor is it the first time you've had a signature about that sort of thing. You seem hung up on it, which is fine if that is what you are into, but keep it in the bedroom and stop sharing it with everyone else who never asked about your fetishes to start with.

ok lisp , I don't really like the trash people put in their sigs, like comments about Palanski ?! but I don't tell people what to do with their profiles

And what is really silly is that THIS is all you want to discuss, as you have a whole big reply to your actual subject that you haven't addressed at all. But your fetish, oh that is all that matters. Childish and juvenile, like I said. Either take the advice and stop looking like an idiot, or don't take the advice and continue to look like an idiot. There is nothing to debate on this point.

I would like to ask, though, why you make posts about stuff and then NEVER bother to respond to the subject matter? The same thing happened with you on the ALIEN 3 board and on other threads. I am going to stop even reading and responding to your threads since you obviously have nothing to offer.

I respond all the time and I sometimes like to read what people say
. YOU were the one who talked about the sig lines , I don't find your lisp thing very funny at all

also one of my sig lines WAS FROM ALIEN 3

Solar sailor, you need to chill out. YOU bought up the sig and keep hounding the kid about it. I found your posts more offending by wasting space talking about it instead of the topic. The only one I see who needs grow up is you.

I am sure you'll get over it just fine, grim. Someone needed to tell the guy that his signature was uncouth, and I did it. He changed it, which is a credit to him. I am not a bit worried over whether you approve or not.

reply

Guess what? No one cares whether you approve or not. You are no one.

reply

People's sigs are none of your business and they never will be. If get butthurt by other people existing, well, maybe you're the root of the problem, not them.

reply

Sounds like you're the one with a problem.

It's not a good joke, or a tactful one.

I very much agree.

Irony: the scene you mention with Data and Spot. Brent Spiner hates cats and was opposed to filming that scene.

My favorite part, sadly, of Star Trek: Swiss Cheese is that its the film where Beverly and Deanna look their absolute best...and then take an even sadder downhill turn in First Contact.

The original Enterprise was very nearly a character herself in TOS. I never felt that way about the D.
