anyone watch it over xmas?

Its the Star Trek Christmas movie! Picards nexus obviously but some of the other scenes feel abit 'Christmasy' at times (ten forward, some of the FX) as does the score (not as much as IVs Christmas music though - which does make it feel abit like a Christmas movie!)

VI also felt abit Christmasy with the Alaskan snow scenes (or more so due to that VI came out near Christmas in 91. Not for UK though in Feb 92 but I remember the memorabilia in the comic store at the time of the US release along with all the 25th anniversary stuff..such a happy time ī€¹)

Yep, it's tradition. Good Christmas movie.

reply

Indeed. Wonder if Generations is actually set at Christmas in December and that's why Picard is feeling festive in the nexus?

Also I read a theory the other day that Trek VI is set at Christmas as in the kitchen (where Valerius vaporises the cooking pot) they are preparing turkeys

reply

Maybe. It was released over the holiday season.

Its almost nexmas time again (better to break out the Xmas movies now than wait until its Xmas in case forget to watch them)

Stand by to beam into the nexmas again šŸŽ„

I always thought that the sunset lighting of some shots gives the film some Christmas vibes as well, like it is a glowing Christmas ornament

reply

No. Okay TNG movie but not worth a rewatch. Iā€™d rather see First Contact again. Now that is a fantastic film.
