Whats up with the ending song?

What the heck did they think when they put that song on the ending credits? Its hideous even for its time. I really started to laugh when i heard it must have bin a joke or something if you ask me.

If you have to ask this question then obviously you have never lived in South Florida (specifically, Miami). I'll give you some clues :

1) This movie is shot in Miami
2) Miami has a large Cuban population and the music is influenced by this
3) Gloria Estefan is Cuban and lives in Miami

See if you add it all up.

I think it went well with the climax. Perfect foot tapping track. Nobody wants to hear sad music after the villain has been blown to bits.

Let's also not forget that her band is the Miami Sound Machine.

I can't say I hated it! but is was a bit bubble gum for me!

Couldn't agree more, it just seemed so out of place, they might as well have done a freeze frame of Stallone and Stone in the car with Walkin' On Sunshine playing in the background.

"I told you we'd play later, you little bitch."

Lol@walking on sunshine

As a previous poster said, I didn't hate the song, but it felt more like a song to end a comedy with. It especially feels weird considering the Bond-esque soundtrack the rest of the movie had.

May be trivial, or long stretch to find a "Miami" song with words - but does the one word 'percussion' (from the song) fit in with a movie about explosives? And sung by a Miami artist to boot? Kinda fits. Like I said- a stretch.
