What's this a remake of?

I cant seem to find another movie listed as Spanking the Monkey and in the plot details it says its a remake.

its from some old italian film i don't know the name of. i remember some character in julien donkey boy referenced the same film.

Are you thinking of "Le Souffle Au Coeur" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067778/), which translated means, "Murmur of the Heart"? It's French, not Italian, but is one of the best-known films dealing with incest. "Spanking the Monkey" isn't really a remake of it, though -- the two films are quite different.

Hi I'm new!

It's mainly a remake of Mors Hus, a Norweigan film from 1974 about a student who goes to stay with his mother one summer and has an incestuos fling with his mother. As you're aware that's the storyline of "Spanking the Monkey". However, it's got elements of "Murmur of the Heart" where he has sex with the girl next door as well as his mother and "LaLuna" where they got drunk and drugged up and have incestuos sex.
