Where is everybody?

Well, this sucks. The board's empty! Am I the only one who likes this movie? (Or worse... Am I the only one who's seen this movie? Nah, can't be.)

So, what to discuss... Hmmm... Anyone else think Mark Frankel was really hot? :-)

I am a Mark Frankel fan and have been looking everywhere online to find Solitaire for 2 in DVD format and find it's only in VHS which is a shame b/c VHS players are practically extinct. If you know of where it can be purchased as DVD, I'd appreciate knowing about it & where to get. Thanks.

Sorry, I've been looking for it too, and I can't find it anywhere. You can't even download it. Amazon has the VHS-version, but I didn't think it was worth it. Like you said, VCRs are practically extinct by now.

Have you seen "Kindred: The Embraced"? Lots of Mark Frankel-action there! :)

"Darn your sinister attraction."

Hi, Yes, I have Kindred: The Embraced on DVD through Amazon and just watched it again. I also got Fortune Hunter in 3 DVDs (4 episodes per DVD) from http://www.dvdrshoppe.com/fortunehunter.htm. Lotsa Mark action also. The set was taken from vhs and vcd. The quality is still good, and very viewable but it is not from a direct digital source. It actually plays better on my laptop than DVD player for some reason. I also ordered Young Catherine from yummydvd.com last month. I still haven't gotten it a month later. The same is for Sisters. I watched For Roseanna and Leon the Pig Farmer on Amazon instant video ($2.99 rent, $9.99 to buy or download on computer) I'd love to find his other performances in Michaelangelo and there are a few tv movies I don't recall right now the titles that he did as well. I've even tried to contact production companies, etc. involved with Solitaire for 2 w/no luck.

Oh my God, I can't believe you found Young Catherine! I loved that one! You have to post again when/if it arrives and tell me if it's worth buying.

Fortune Hunter sounds very interesting, I'll have to check it out. You sound like a real expert, by the way. Nice knowing someone else shares my obsession :)

To tell you the truth, I couldn't believe I found Young Catherine in DVD format either after searching everywhere. I still haven't gotten it in the mail, almost 3 months later, after emailing their help people w/no reply. I found the Yummy DVD phone # in Toronto & they gave me the email of the CEO/Owner of Yummy DVD Entertainment. I got a swift reply back from him this week that he is looking into and getting my order. He assured me it was a problem with their fulfillment house called Ashland Video . They have just moved their facility and he believes my order got lost. So he's personally looking into it and is getting back to me tomorrow, FRiday, May 27th. I just emailed him about the fact that the Yummydvd.com website has changed since I placed my order in March. All I had to do was put YC in search box and there it was in DVD format to order...they emailed my order form which I still have. Now when you look up their website, it says the domain has expired. I put YC in search box and all I got was a bunch of cheap dvd websites that none had YC in DVD tho they say they do. Blockbusters online even didn't have it available anymore to rent or order. Amazon only has VHS. So I'll let you know what I hear from this Yummy DVD CEO about ordering YC in DVD from them.

Are you on Facebook? I belong to a Mark Frankel FB page there and found out from a German fan there that Michelangelo is only available in Europe in German and Italian. I just also found that Young Catherine was once available as DVD in RUssian but no longer available. Do get Fortune Hunter. It's fun and Mark did all his own stunts which is no surprise, he was a daredevil.

Wow, what a mess. Yummy DVD doesn't sound exactly reliable. Hope you get it though, from what I remember it was fantastic. Did you say that Amazon has YC on VHS? I do still own a VCR, so it might be worth getting unless it's ridiculously expensive. I actually don't mind buying VHS-tapes, I'm old-fashioned (read: technological barbarian), but it has to be a reasonable price.

No, I'm not on Facebook. But I have been considering it lately, and you might just have tipped me over the edge! My friends sure couldn't convince me, but if there's a Mark Frankel-page, well... That's an entirely different story. :) I'll get back to you on that.

Yes, on Amazon and Ebay, Young Catherine is available on VHS. If I still had a VHS player like you, I'd get it. I first found YC on Comcast cable under Free Movies a few months ago. I like Julia Ormond but I was so taken with Mark's performance and charisma, I watched it like 6 times!! On Facebook there are like 3 or 4 Mark fan pages including one as his character of Julian Luna. His 2 sons, Fabien & Max are members of at least one of them. The online fan websites of Mark I belong to also as I'm sure you do too. I'm hoping that finally getting YC on DVD will be worth the wait. :)
