Strange how two sisters wanted to have sex with each other

I liked this movie. I think it covered an often difficult subject of incest. But I had not seen lesbian incest before!

Whilst the story was good, albeit very dark and confining, I did wonder why both sisters found it necessary to sleep and have sex with each other. It's not as if the older one influenced her younger sister or vice versa. They apparently both had very strong sexual desires for each other which I find odd.

You'd think after moving in with her older sister, the younger one would have wanted to find a suitable suitor. But she only had eyes for her sister.

Such movies are interesting to watch but no doubt they still have vast appeal for perverts and men who like seeing lesbian sex.

I loved the movie. It was very intense and dark. Christine in all honesty, scared the crap outta me. She just had that "potential to be a psycho killer" vibe going on. As for the sexual desire toward one another, well they were literally stuck in that room together. They seemed to be really close even as kids and I guess it just kind of transended into a sexual relationship. In all fairness, I also found it a little odd how they drifted toward one another, but again many reasons including them being totally isolated from the outside world could result in their incest.

Jodhi May, who played Lea, was only 18 at the time this movie was filmed, and said she found it hard to leave Lea behind when filming finished. "I thought about her all the time and it was very hard to switch off. The tensions that led to Lea and Christine's catastrophic crime are something that Jodhi feels she understands: They live together in an incredibly harsh environment. They mix only with each other, and their sexual feelings become introverted because they have no other outlet. Both of them put conditions on their relationship, and for it to exist at all, it has to become sexual. At the beginning, I think Lea was too young to know how to control her emotions, but as time goes on she becomes more sexually mature. The whole atmosphere of the house was extremely repressed."

An incredible performance by both Jodhi May and Joley Richardson too often gets lost in discussions of this disturbing film. Regrettably, many viewers get tied up in the sexual aspects to the point that they neglect the powerful, gripping performances of these amazing actresses.
