Hugh Grant played a warm, compassionate reverend

I'm not a real fan of Hugh Grant. I don't mean that I dislike him. I just don't feel anything for or against the man. I'm neutral.

Yet, I will admit that I felt tremendous affinity for the excellent dramatic portrayal of the married, young Protestant reverend/church official in SIRENS (1993). Juat as descriptions of Hugh Grant have said, his characters radiate deep substance, sympathy, compassion, understanding, and real positive attitude, outlook, and energy in life.

After watching his SIRENS' reverend character role, I felt ready to confess all my sins and all my problems to Hugh Grant's reverend character. I wish all religious men of God could radiate such warm comfort, confidence, trust, empathy, compassion, wisdom. Who knows? Maybe Hugh Grant would have indeed made a good reverend.

I do like him, but he is no different than a lot of male A list stars whom like keeping there clothes on. It is much better for there male box office appeal. Men could care less to see him getting it on in his films. I am not saying he absolutely refuses to do them but if he can get around it you can bet he will go with the boyish good looks that tends to work for all of them.

You don't see Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise, Tom Selleck, Denzel Washington, Richard Gere, or any other older established Male star in the buff. Most were this way even when they were young. It is one of the tricks of the trade. And also one that works very well if you got the face to pull it off.
