He abandoned his wife?


I know it's a movie, but that part of the trial was so stupid.

He left a woman who had cheated on him and was carrying a child that was not his. To try and compare what he did to what this politician did is absurd.

Steve Martin's character was a devoted loyal husband who suddenly finds his wife was unfaithful and that his kid was not his kid.

The other guy was committing adultery and abandoned a child that he fathered in order to not harm his political career. To say "apples and oranges" is an understatement.

Yeah. That lawyer also had the look of a criminal. That scene at the beginning where he is talking to Newlin with a cigarette in his mouth makes me think of a typical scene in a mobster movie.
