Sam Raimi would own a reboot of this

It's absurd this has still not happened.

Yup. Hes been up for doing a Shadow movie for decades now. He last mentioned he was still trying to get it in an interview back in '03.

I can't agree, Sam Raimi does pretty well at making semi cheesy/comedic films, but I am not sure he would capture the darker tone very well.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?"

Darkman is filled with it. It is pure pulp and is far more The Shadow than this was. The only thing that held it back was budget and Raimi made far better use of his than Mulcahy did.

Actually, I'd rather see Raimi attack The Spider, as it fits his sensibilities better.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!

Eh, it had dark moments, but I did not find it all that "pulp".

"From a phylogenetic perspective, we are all fish!"

Raimi did Darkman because he could not get the rights to the Shadow.
Agreed that the Darkman was often closer to tone to the original Shadow Pulp Magazines then the 1994 film was.
Raimi has stated he would ditch all of the Shadow's magic powers which he never had in the Pulp magazine. And in the radio show the only power he had was the "power to cloud men's minds" which was often portrayed as from of hypnotism.
