Great satires of the '80s and '90s.

Serial Mom was a hilarious sendup of its era on so many levels. I can't list all of the social mores of its era this film pokes fun at, but my favorites are the pastor's "sermon" at their church and Beverly's obsession with recycling and the environment.

(For people born after this film was made, it helps to know that the '90s was when environmental issues were first getting national attention in America, and counties all over were beginning to implement recycling programs).

I also remember that decade well for its "family friendly" films and political memes lauding the importance and sanctity of family in general. I can think of few other movies that do social satire in the same league as Serial Mom.

Heathers is another satire with similar type of humor.
