Must all be said in and Irish accent ;)

"The sea gives and the sea takes away."--Grandfather (Mick Lally) to Fiona Coneelly (Jeni Courtney)

"Once a selkie find its skin again, neither chains of steel nor chains of love can keep her from the sea. From that day on, it was forbidden to harm a seal on the island."--Tadgh Coneelly (John Lynch) to Fiona

"The sea is a sickness and you to will come to greave for it"--Grandmother (Eileen Colgan) to Fiona

There are many more but I wouldn't want to get them wrong and i don't have my DVD with me. The Irish have such a lyrical way about they're speech it's beautiful

"They say the east is our future and the west is our past. The island's to the west of us, Hugh"- Grandmother to Grandfather

"She's only lost in the world is all"- The Waitress to Fiona's Father

"'You'll have nothing now' He said 'but the black rocks, the wild waves and the4 hard sky above you.'" Grandfather telling Fiona a story

"Some say you should never save a drowing man. What the sea will take, the sea must have. It's said that some that are saved turn wicked afterwards." -Grandfather to Fiona

"I rake this fire as the pure Chirst rakes us all...with mary at the foot and Brigid at the head. And may the eight brightest angels from the city of Grace preserve this house and all its people till the coming of the day."- Grandmothers prayer while raking the fire.

My favorite I can't find. I can't find the script. It's when Fiona says "I hope Jamie comes in" or something like that. The storm is coming in and Fiona and the Grandmother are taking the wash down off the line. That's when the Grandmother realizes that Fiona has seen Jamie. Later Grandmother says to Hugh "I knew he wasn't gone off us".

Fiona: Why does he run from me?
Tadgh: Why do you chase him?
Fiona: He's my little brother! He's lost out there!
Tadgh: He's not lost... he's just with another branch of the family.

My favorite, too! I also remember in the same scene there's a good quote when Fiona saks Tadgh if he's daft, but I can't remember his response...

He says, "I may be daft, girl, but I'm not blind."

If I remember right, he's hinting at the fact that he's seen Jamie too. I think....lol. It's been a long time since I've seen it. But I'm going out to rent it again. I freaking love this movie! It's so magical!

"And they say the Conneleys (sp?) is the mad ones!" -- Grandfather

Not really a line, but when the guy in the story cusses the schoolmaster out, and then we hear "Hugh!" and we're back in the living room. Awesomest. Cut. Ever.

Jamie's only line: "Fiona?"

So much of this movie's awesomeness is visual or tied into the music that "quotes" is a short list.
