Yes, you were right.

I am both a big baseball fan, and a big Albert Brooks fan, and this movie was punishing.

It may have been a decent premise, but as the whole thing played out, it was so incredulous it was torture to watch.

I will never get those two hours of my life back.

It wasn't that bad geez. Don't get me wrong, it was bad, but pull your hyperbolic heads of your asses here. It wasn't that bad. Just run of the mill crap.

reply

LOL...well I guess 'run of the mill crap' is in the eye of the shoveller, isn't it?

As I said, I am a big baseball fan who likes almost all baseball movies, a huge Albert Brooks fan (Lost in America and Defending Your Life are two hidden cinematic gems), and have also enjoyed most of the Brendan Fraser movies I have seen (albeit I have missed most of the Mummy, George of the Jungle, and Dudley Do right fare)....trust me chief, I wanted to like this movie.

With that said, it was an EPIC piece of crap. It grossed $2.6M frickin bucks, so apparently somebody agreed.

This was one of those baseball movies they cranked out during the 1994 strike, and it was the worst of the bunch.

The aggregate on Rotten Tomatoes was 22% from critics, and 24% from viewers. It doesn't get much worse than that.

Its a movie with a silly premiss, but I found it to be really hilarious in a few parts. Albert Brooks is really funny in just about everything he does.

The "fishing teacher" bit was a riot.

reply

I totally disagree. It is my favorite baseball movie of all time.
