why isn't the bad guy credited?

After the first time I watched The Fighter, I became curious on who played the film's main villain (some guy named Benedict). But when I watched the credits, that name wasn't there. I immediately went to IMDb to find out for myself and they listed the name and the actor, but I always wondered why isn't he credited when a lot of the story revolves around him.

Is this the movie where the dude kicks a fly against a window?

reply

yes, it is

Maybe he did not want to be credited.

Maybe something contractual so he could take a cheaper salary since this is obviously a low-budget vid.

It is possible R. Lee Emery did not want to be credited because he felt the movie was that bad, that it would be a blot on his career.

Its a strange film, a combination of "Shane" and "Bloodsport", but done without much subtlety. And the fights aren't that interesting either-- which is a mortal sin in a martial arts movie.
