Has anyone ever seen this movie?

I am searching for a movie that was played on the tube March 21, 2004, viewed by many in Washington via satellite and two people came up with Basic Instinct and Mortal Fear.
This movie I am trying to find the name of was turned from book into a movie. There are 8 red herrings planted, 5 murders in all and they were committed by a woman.
As far as the movie Mortal Fear goes, I have never seen it and the reviews/comments I've read on the 'net make it rather confusing.
Can anyone provide me with some details on the movie or suggest another movie based on my information.
