Why are turn of the century women so hot?

Bridget Fonda and Traci Lind in this movie and more recently Mia Wasikowska in Crimson Peak are really, really sexy to me.

I don't know why, but the turn of the century dress and hairstyles are very appealing to me, I especially love when Bridget Fonda and Traci Lind are sans said dresses in this film (and when Bridget Fonda wears those glasses at the tanning bed? unf)
