Did anyone notice?

The rail cross where the climatic scene takes place is almost identical to the one that appears at ther beginning of "Vanishing Point". "Vanishing Point" was directed by Richard C. Sarafian, the father of the man who directed this movie. Is it an homage or it is the same location?
