Terrible ripoff of badlands

Wow! Really? That sounds ridiculous to me. Except for a male and a female in a car, I see no similarities at all. You compare that murderous spree in Badlands with someone stealing records from his mother's house, and clothes out of a dryer in a laundromat? Come on now, get serious.

Definitely felt strong BADLANDS vibes from the very beginning, both from the subject matter and style. That said, I think it's much more than a mere ripoff. It flips the runaway subgenre on its head and definitely has a voice of its own. This is a very strong debut and that ending was shockingly great!
