Cassettes?

Wow technology has changed a lot since then!

People actually plunked down money for cassette copies of live shows?

Well to a small degree they've made a comeback (Cassette Store Day for one). Those who hear and embrace the warmer, fuller sound and experience of analogue over digital like myself still find them to be the best option for listening when you're on the go where vinyl on a turntable isn't an option. And they are composed of greater and more expensive material than CDs or non-existent quality of MP3s so it would be a given that they'd cost more brand new, its simply been their losing out to new trends and conveniences of disruptive technology that has diminished their value.
