DVD release??

I first heard about this film when Rolling Stone magazine mentioned it about a decade ago, and have been curious to see it ever since. The low budget approach combined with its musical subject matter sounded really interesting to me.

Still, I've never come across it anywhere on video; I'd like to think that a DVD release would be easier to find now, but I don't know if there's been one, or any plans for one.

Anyone know??

I saw this film on Channel 4(UK) back in 1996 and it was amazing. Luckily taped it many years later on a re-run. Would love to own a DVD copy but it never seemed to surface, such a shame.

It's available here (in the USA) from Kino-on-Video.

I purchased a copy (for $12.48), from a large online DVD retailer, when they had a sale on Kino-published titles.

I don't know if there is a PAL-region.2 version for U.K. film fans, but you may find it worth a quick online search.

Just got an email from Kino that it's on sale for $9.99. That may (or may not) mean it's on close-out and may soon be deleted.

Holy crap are you the other person? I have weird memories about stuff like this but can never remember the vitals. I remember it was summer of 96 (aug) and we were going on holiday in the early hours. My mum went to bed for a few hours but me and the old man decided to stay up through night as taxi was picking us up at 4 or 5am. He fell asleep on sofa & looking for something to watch at 3am I flicked on channel 4 & started watching this random black & white art film. All I remember about it was his buddy always hanging around although unwanted and saying something like "why do you treat me like sh*t? All I ever did was like you". I think he gets stabbed towards the end mistakenly by a gang member after the main actor. That's all I remember. An hour later we were off to Greece and it's been bugging me ever since until just now. Please tell me this is the film I'm thinking about???

Rhythm Thief is available from for instance "Amazon". I've bought two copies. In case one of them should break. It is region free.
