Michael McDonald's elaborate joke?

We just caught this movie on a free preview of flix--Holy Macaroni, was this bizarre. Although once I realized that the Michael McDonald in the writing credit was the "Mad TV" Michael McDonald, it suddenly made sense that this was more funny than scary. I guess this was supposed to be a spoof.

As for all the holes and goofs in the plot and dialogue, I had the hardest time with Mickey Rooney as WW One ace--he just wasn't old enough.

It was cool to see Don "Bob Pinciotti" Stark as the police detective, though, and the aforementioned McDonald playing the CYA shrink.
