Who was the blonde woman in the hospital?

Is she another victim who escaped? What was the significance of showing her?

On a side note, this is not a great movie but oddly enough, I do not dislike it at all!

She was another victim i presumed, considering their eye contact. She's played by Marilyn Burns who portrayed the lead final girl in the original movie, but im not sure if she's intended to be the same character here.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seemed there was more significance to the eye contact than just being victims of the same perpetrators. Whaddaya think?

reply

I dont think it was more than "I know" eye contact. The movie doesnt hint at anything more.

I would assume she is meant to be Sally Hardesty. I can't think of any other reason that shot of her would have any significance.

Well, the Sawyers in this one (like the ones before) apparently had been doing this for awhile. So i just assumed Marilyn played another victim. It might be Sally for all i know, considering its the same actress, but then again its left as a mystery. In fact, this whole is a mystery.

I'm joking when I say this, but it's probably Verna Carson, and it hints towards Texas Chainsaw 3D. They knew back then in 1994-1997 that Texas Chainsaw 3D would get made, so they put a little teaser at the end; it just took until now for us to figure it out. The cop at the end of this one tells Jenny "We will find who did this to you. This is not the end of it" and then Marilyn's character is rolled by, as if saying "He's right, you know. January 4th, 2013. Mark your calendar."

That might have worked. Heather's youth would certainly be more believable had she been a baby in 1994. Darla could've been the mother.

Yeah, that scene featured many of the cast from the original. A nod to the first movie. But as far as character go, i think the woman in the hospital was just suppose to be another random victim. I mean nothing indicates she played Sally or anything.

This movie is most defently a WTF moment in its entire running time.

In a long since deleted thread, there was an interesting take on this film being one of those that shouldn't be taken at face value. In other words, what we see happening isn't actually waht's happening or something along that line. Forgive my memory, I cannot recall any details. Anyway, the theory hinged on the blonde in the hospital being the same girl that survived the first film. Dammit I wish I could remember the idea completely. Anyway, it made me see this film differently.

Be cautious when you see a light at the end of the tunnel. It could be an oncoming train.

I assumed it was meant to be Sally Hardesty, or else what was the pont in it?

It wasn't great continuity, as Sally was mentioned to have died in 1977 in a previous movie.

But if it wasn't meant to be Sally, what was the point in the scene?
