Original teaser?

Does anyone remember the teaser for this movie? It consisted of Denis Leary performing one of his classic "rants" about Christmas while standing in front of a Christmas choir.

I remember that I laughed for a long time, and that there wasn't any footage from the movie.

Anyone know where it might be available for download?

I remember it well. It was shown in theaters around November/December 1993, and he ranted about how much christmas sucked and how pissed off he was about it. He mentioned a bunch of christmas movies, and also a number of current movies. I specifically remember the mention of wayne's world 2, because I was actually at the theater for that movie when I saw this (I got in free). It ended with something like: "This year? I'm takin' hostages." Then it said The Ref, coming in March. Didn't even tell you what it was actually about, but what a great teaser!

I only saw it that one time. I have no idea where you might find a recording of it, but if you do, let me know. The perfect clip for a Denis Leary fan.

Yes!! I remember it well and I think it is up there with the best as far as teaser trailers go. I've been looking for it online for quite a while but havn't found it yet.

I remember it because it completely stole a bit that I was doing at the time with the list of presents Santa now owes me interest on by giving me crap instead :)

As a trailer for the actual film I think it's kind of lousy since the only people it even makes interested in the film are Leary fans who want to see Leary rant Leary style and I think that helped this film be the underrated gem it was. Of course releasing a christmas movie in the middle of March is also not the most brillinat move of all time.

was it miracle on 34th st that was released in mid summer?

Glad I'm not the only one who remembers this (yes it was in the beginning of Wayne's World 2 - chances are it's on the old VHS copy of that, back when you had to fast-forward through 8 previews for movies you'd already seen).

I just remember the rant and him being almost speechless - Lewis Black style - by the fact that they were coming out with another Three Musketeers movie.

Yeah, I saw the trailer in the theater and wish I could find it too, because it had a great tagline at the end:

"The ultimate Christmas movie is coming this Spring."

I remember seeing it over and over and thinking 'that looks pretty lame', then my other half came home w/ the video, and I was floored -- it's since become one of my favorite movies of all time, and possibly favorite comedy. Definite favorite Christmas film! And now at least I know why that "first impression" was so 'off' from the movie itself. I didn't remember the content of the trailer, just that I'd seen it over and over and wasn't impressed. Thanks for the 'explanation'!

OMG Thank you!
I always loved that spot, and I've never been able to confirm it's existence, aside from this topic. I hope someone uploads it! Please?

"no home alone 2, no beethoven 2, no wayne's world 2, no three musketeers, I *beep* HATE the THREE MUSKETEERS! No, (?) and so on.

Funny! And the editor was practically a co-star of the bit, with the schizo cuts.

Sadly this is not on the Wayne's World 2 VHS, but it was indeed before the cinema release of it. Denis Leary himself should put this online as part of his legacy.

You guys ever seen his deleted scene from Natural Born Killers? Rant from a jail cell, much like this one. :)
