Buck ten?

What did Gus mean when he asked Jesse "what are you, a buck ten?" I always thought it meant like an 11 year old or something. Urban dictionary isn't helpful. I think Jesse was talking about how he had blackmailed his teacher and had like $11,000 saved up. Maybe he was talking about the money, "a buck ten." I've never heard the term anywhere else that I recall.

He was referring to Jesse's weight; 110 lbs. Implying that he was too puny to be messing around with things like blackmailing an Army Lieutenant.

"Dewey, you fool! Your decimal system has played right into my hands!"

reply

Makes sense, but could have been more clear. Wasnt $11,000 also the amount Jesse claimed to have saved up from blackmailing Siskell?

reply

If you listen closely, he ACTUALLY says: "What do you weigh, a buck ten?" He says it quickly.

reply

I thought he might've said "what are we, a buck ten?" But maybe you are right. I haven't seen it in a while.

reply

Closed captioning doesn't have weight.

reply

Wasnt $11,000 also the amount Jesse told him he had saved up from blackmailing Siskel, too?

reply

Closed captioning "What are we a buck ten?"

I can understand why you thought he said that but I just listened to it a half a dozen times and cc is correct. Even though they sometimes aren't.

reply

Yes he was referring to his weight. As far as if the amount was $11k, I don't remember honestly.

reply

Because he was scamming people out of money, like he was some tough muscle not to be messed with.I mean why would someone be scared of him and not just give him a beat down?

reply

Because he might have he original film and pictures at home or in a safe deposit box so if something were to happen to Jessie it would still destroy Siskel's marriage and maybe put him in prison.
