Why isn't this available AT ALL in the States?

No DVD, no VHS. NOTHING. I loved this movie, despite its oversimplification of the decline of the people on what we call Easter Island. The advent of Europeans did more to destroy the people there than they ever did.

Lots of really A+ eye candy, a fun and somewhat campy plot, and really cool casting makes this one of my favorite flicks. Not great, but not bad, and certainly not worthy of being religated to being unavailable.

is the korean dvd original or bootlegged?

I bought one, and I have to say, I can't tell.
The picture and sound aren't too good, and the film
has an odd orange tint to it that the VHS US release doesn't
seem to have.

(Spoiler to follow)

Oddly, when Jason Scott Lee and Sandrine Holt escape,
the part that mentions settlements on Pitcairn island
is missing.

I still own the original laserdisc. I've been wanting to upgrade to DVD but don't know which import version to buy. Are any of them anamorphic?

I just received a copy from Thailand via Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/thaicdonline

Web site says it is not a bootleg version and is region 0

It is widescreen, good quality image, 5.1 English and Thai soundracks. Worth the money and 2 week shipping time. I am watching it for the second time right now.
