A total underrated classic!

I recently saw this movie for the very first time and I thought it was awesome. It had a great cast, it was well written, and it had a great murder mystery. I think this movie got one star when it was released but I thought it was excellent. This movie is definitely underrated. Anyone else enjoy this movie as much as I did?

You know what? I agree! This movie was excellent! It had a great sets, art decoration, wonderful acting and it was such a beautiful and funny movie!

George Lucas, thank you for an awesome movie!

Thank you! I'm glad someone agrees with me! And you're right, the set decorations and costumes were excellent! :)

I am glad to see that others like this little gem. I love movies about the heyday of radio; my favorite Abbott and Costello is "Who Done It?" which is set in a radio station as well. While I'm no prude, it's still nice to see something that isn't about body fluids in beer being consumed by a of batch useless twits and skanky ho-bags.
I think it's great that Lucas could get so many great performers/character actors and they seemed to be enjoying themselves in this cinematic treat. I concur on the compliments on the sets and costumes; they are exquisite. It's showing right now on cable, so I'm settling in for a view.

Loved it, great amalgamation of screwball comedy and murder mystery.

I don't know why the rating is low, I've always loved this movie. It's so much fun, great music, and it really captures the screwbal comedy feel from real 1930's films. It's fantastic. it's a shame it doesn't get the recognition it deserves!

I agree. I enjoyed it a lot. A fun tribute to radio shows, classic screwball comedies, and murder mysteries.

My family and I loved this film. One of the complaints I've read is that there were too many jokes and the viewer couldn't catch them all. They must HATE "His Girl Friday." I don't think modern audiences always grasp screwball comedy.

Oh, well. It's their loss because this is a truly funny movie and the fast-and-furious pace is just an excuse to re-watch.

I know; I adore this movie! I'm so glad to see there's a cult following of sorts!

"So he hits him over the head with his log."
"Dad, he doesn't have a log, he has a whip! If he had a log, he would be known as The Black Log!"

I absolutely love it. I've watched it many times over the years and it never gets old. Great swan song for comedy legend George Burns, and quite appropriate that it's about old time radio.

"I'M AS MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

I loved it especially cause it felt more like an experience than a movie you are watching the movie with the characters and the murders and all that take place but you are also in a weird way the audience at the station watching all these acts come on. It's so cool.

I'd love to see it adapted as a stage musical.
