The Puppets Are Good......Always Have Been.

I'm not sure why people are making such a big deal about the puppets being the good guys. In number one Andre was a good guy trying to keep his power out of the hands of the Nazi's (whom I'm sure MOST of us would agree are bad guys). Toulon was good, his puppets are his "children", and THEY are good.

They were doing bad things when they were trusting, and following, a master that is bad. In #1 it was the dead dirtbag, and in #2 it was a deranged Toulon. Number three shows how and why these little guys are in fact good, and the next couple just follow that same path. They are good. The masters determine what the little guys do. Evil masters make for puppets doing naughties! Watch again, with this new perspective, and see if it doesn't make sense. Enjoy the show whether you agree with my view, or not!

I think fans know the puppets were always good, but some people I guess want the puppets to be evil again, like kill the innocents like in the first two. The last time that happened really was CURSE OF THE PUPPET MASTER.

You say that the puppets are good and that their master controls their behavior. Well if the master determines what they the puppets do then the puppets aren't good or bad. They're neutral and are influenced by what their master has them do. Although I don't understand how their master influences their behavior. What exactly does he do to make them follow them? I like how they're good and bad. It makes it ambiguous.

They're pretty neutral powers. The puppets actually used to be good humans, so deep down they're good. However this is never revealed in any of the films, but it's obvious these people forget their past memories and literally do turn to puppets that obey only their master.

The master they consider is probably the one who brought them back to life, in the post-Toulon days, like Neil Gallagher or Ricky Myers. If they give orders, the puppets obey, whether it's murder or not. They will rebell though if the master does something to hurt the puppets or perhaps maybe they deep down know something going with the master is wrong. Neil Gallagher was evil, wanted death, treated the puppets like dirt so they killed him. Andre Toulon broguht back as a corpse obviously made him go insane and he tried to screw them over, so they had to kill him too. Thankfully his spirit was good again.

According to Wikipedia Part 2 is chronologically the last film. I guess there are different orders one can put the films into and have it make sense (somewhat).

Yes, but not really. In Puppet Master: The Legacy it came off like part 2 was the last in the storyline, they too were trying to connect the films but failed really. Also, CURSE wasn't set before part 4, that's just a theory some people have, I don't know why Wikipedia has it.

Well for one Andre Toulon is good (leave out 2) so the puppets are indeed good. Now time without their beloved master will lead them to make mistakes. After they find Rick they finally find their way back to being sane. It's perfect. In some ways you could say after 2 Andre Toulon searched for someone he could lead to the inn to bring the puppets back and help stop the evil that keep trying to put an end to them.
