Do you agree with the movie...

... being on this list?

reply

I really don't want to see a pulp fiction tv show.

reply

that would be the worst thing ever.

reply

... it never worked, at least I don’t remember any series adapted from movies that were worth it.

I’m totally against any attempt to make a tv show out of this masterpiece, and I’m pretty sure Tarantino would agree with me.

reply

The Karate Kid adaptation Cobra Kai is kicking ass right now and just got renewed for season 3!

reply

All right, maybe a few exceptions, but usually they are only easy-money grabbers.

reply

also Buffy?

reply

Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles was good in my opinion. In fact, I consider it a better sequel than anything else after T2. But I do agree Pulp Fiction shouldn't be made into a TV show.

reply

« better sequel than anything else after T2. »

Yeah but this is not hard to accomplish.

reply

I still like it though. I am in the minority but I do like both T3 and Genesis. Though Sarah Connor Chronicles and the first 2 movies are superior to them. But I admit I don't really want a sequel TV show of Pulp Fiction. I feel like everything was tied together in the film. Jules leaves Marcelles and the life of a gangster. Vincent ends up getting gunned down by Butch. Marcelles drops his vendetta against Butch when Butch saves him from a rapist. Butch ends up leaving town and lives happily ever after with his girlfriend. It's a perfect ending for everyone. Except Vincent but he was such an idiot that I don't feel bad about it.

reply

I'd prefer a series about Jules doing his Kwai Kwan Caine journey as a sequel to Pulp Fiction.

" I feel like everything was tied together in the film. "

Yup, like pretty much every single Tarantino's movie. This is one of the awesome thing about him: whit one film, all the story is told well, no need for sequels/spin-offs or whatever.

And I respect your opinion about T3 and Genesis, but I kindly disagree. T3 is one of the movies I hate the most of all the movies I hve ever seen.

Mash? Most people remember the TV show more than the movie or the novel.

I get your point, though.

reply

What's funny is the movie Mash had completely different characters and actors.

Gary Burghoff

The Total Recall one was ok , they should have called it "Bladerunner" though

reply

No, it shouldn't be..it should be left alone
But it might get away with being a mini series..

They're doing a mini series of Catch 22 that's coming up next month...a great book, I thought, but the original film was mostly forgettable.

That might be the difference of what should be done and what shouldn't.
If it's a masterpiece than leave it alone.

IDK Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs have similar DNA because they're both written/directed by Tarantino. I could see Tarantino making another similar type movie but I seriously doubt a Pulp Fiction TV show could work..plus good writing is not hard to find nowadays, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to find. that's why so many shows are so bland.

reply

There has been a golden age in tv for about the last decade and it may be where the best writers are migrating. I'm not referring to network broadcast channels which seem to be consistently growing blander and more unwatchable by the day. But cable and some other streaming services.

They did a great job with Fargo and I think managed to keep pulling it off every season because they also choose to go with originality for the latter seasons with new stories.

I'm not sure there's a point to a Pulp Fiction tv show though. It's not that old a film and unless there's something worthwhile to add to it they should just leave it alone
