Tarantino saying the N word...

This is why so many people regard him as racist. There's absolutely no reason for a white character who's not even a gangster or anything saying the N word to a black character. Especially a character like Jules Winfield, it doesn't even fit in the script. It's like Tarantino saw this as an opportunity to say the N word and get away with it.

He's justified the use of the word in movies like Django but there's no need for it here.

Today, all white people are racists. There's no way out. So I'm a racist? I've never said or done anything to upset or harm a POC, but okay, whatever. I've given up even caring.

reply

Exactly!

I can say any word I want to and you won't stop me.

why do we think Tarantino is racist?

he LOVES blaxploitation films. he LOVES Pam Grier, in fact made an entire movie around her.
he made an entire character based on Samuel Jackson.

he made a movie about a black slave breaking out of his slave chains before the Civil war.
he essentially made a black Cavalry officer with a yellow stripe down his back a hero in H8ful.

?
he drops the N word a few times and he's a racist? come the fuck on.

Get a life!

I don't know if it was mentioned but his character, Jimmy is married to a black woman.

I understood it to mean that his friendship and familiarity to Jules and other black men allowed him to talk like them.

If it's the word that's so bad, it shouldn't matter what the color the person delivering it is. No one should right? I don't see you addressing Jackie Chan saying " MY NIGGA" in Rush Hour.
