Did anyone see the movie on hallmark movie channel at 8 tonight? It told me all day it would be on at 8, then "A Spring Awakening" was on at 8 and all thru the movie at the bottom of the screen it said you are now watching a promise kept. "the Oksana Baiul Story", did this happen to everyone? I was going to watch a whole different channel at 9 but saw a commercial for this movie so taped the other channel and it never came on here any way. I went to hallmarks movie channel home page and it also said the skaters movie would be on. I havent seen great reviews on the movie but like the guy who plays her coach and thought I might like it.

I saw it this week on Hallmark Movie Channel and loved it! I love movies about the power of the individual and this one truly kept up with that spirited and heart wrenching theme. I of course was inspired to watch it because of Monica Keena's kind persona that she brings to every movie role she's in, whether it's as a heroine in a gory horror film such as "Freddy vs. Jason" or as an adorable accountant in "All She Wants For Christmas". In so many ways the ending ballet inspired skating by Oksana herself (not Monica) is the greatest tribute she could ever make to her mother because fans and non-fans of skating will see it and feel deeply touched by her hard work and love for her mother. This is an absolutely sweet and endearing movie for everyone to watch and enjoy.
