The gay club

In the club where Greg meets Graham for the first time, I couldn't avoid to notice how the people around was hitting on him and each others. Is that how gay people behave when they are going out to party?

like any bar - gay or staight - that is that sort of bar...you know, a singles sort of place where many are looking to hook up

My library was Dukedom large enough... (The Tempest 1.2)

Well, I havn't been in any gay bars yet, but I have been in bars for straight people, and they were nothing like the gay place seen in this movie. "A singles sort of place" is unknown to me, so I guess it doesn't exist where I live.

thats the curzon in liverpool for you lol

oh btw, love how they disguise the location! the inside is definetly the curzon, but when he's about to walk in, that area of area is nowhere near!

reply

Yes, The Curzon is famed for being a sleazy sh*tpit. Quite true to life really, except in the number of guys in there. That place is dead these days.

reply

The place is definitely not dead! I was in there this afternoon and it is still as gloriously sleazy as ever!!

You're joking right? People in CLUBS period hit on each other. Most straight clubs are pure meat markets. As a straight woman who has been to quite a lot of straight clubs AND some gay clubs I can confirm that. My first time at a straight club I was shocked at how rude and disrespectful some guys were. Drunk guys would grope me on the dance floor, one even licked my neck. A complete stranger that I hadn't even spoken to or so much as looked at. And before you even try to say it - NO, I wasn't dressed like a 'slut'.

So while there are some wild gay clubs out there, the same goes for straight clubs. And I didn't see anything in this movie that was particularly shocking. Yes, people hit on each other, danced kiss and left the club together. That's what happens in clubs.

That's pretty much just the male nature.

It's more simple when it's two men than when it's a man and a woman. Most heterosexual men hold back because they are dealing with women.

Of course I'm generalizing a little and there are exceptions... but on average you see a very different sexual behavior and limits between men and women.

reply

The internet has changed this a bit, people don't "cruise" like they once did, IMO
