What a depressing ending...

I did not expect that ending.

Really good movie though.

How else could it have ended?

You are right about the film, though - it's amazing.

The novel's ending is even worse: the postman is arrested by the secret services, and it's implied he's going to be murdered.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

Not depressing. Mario a had a son, who he never knew, but he leaves a legacy. He wrote a poem that was to be his crowning movement until he was killed. Ultimately he realised that Pablo Neruda was the best thing to happen in his life. I doubt he had any regrets.

I cried as I was sad he never saw Neruda again but when I considered his final words I realise there was more to his demise

Why problem make? When you no problem have, you don't want to make ...

So another drama with few funny moments labeled as comedy? Ew.

I believe this is what we call "Well, that escalated quickly."

Now I know how King Arthur felt when Lancelot caressed his wife's genitalia!
