Funny thing about the Game Boy

As I was watching this movie, I noticed as people were playing "The Game" on a Nintendo Game Boy that the system didn't even have a game pak inside it. On top of that, it was the classic monochrome or greyscale Game Boy, but the game was in full color when they showed people playing it on the Game Boy.

Don't you just hate it when directors gets so technically ignorant?

reply

Hell yeah! When I saw this Film first time I was 12 or 13 and it was not only that it was the first Police Academy Film that didn't made me laugh - they made some bullsh** with the Game Boy!

Did they paid Nintendo something for this?

reply

Why would a movie have to pay a company to have a video game system in it? It's called advertising, if anything Ninteno Paid them.

reply

Hm, yes, but...this leads to an interesting question: They never said that it is a Game Boy. The GB itself was called "The Game" in the Movie, so does anyone paid anything to anyone?

"Am I the only person who sees the giant monkey!?"

reply

What's even funnier is as I watched this the second time, I noticed that some of the people playing "The Game" actually had game paks in their Game Boy while others had the Game Boy without a game pak.

reply

Hahahahaha REALLLLY??? on Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow?

reply

No, it's called product placement.

Light travels faster than sound,
that's why people seem bright,
until you hear them.

reply

THE GAME looked kind of fun though "take that you miserable bear"

reply

What made it even more amusing was that the close-ups of the Game Boy's screen are actually filmed from a computer monitor.

reply

That is the first thing I noticed... Epic fail.

reply

Just started the movie. 10 seconds into it. First thing I noticed, lol.
