Was this ever in theaters?

Was it direct to video or was it released theatrically?

reply

It was on in the Cinema's in the UK.

I know as a bunch of us went to see it at the Warner Cinema's, and got so bored we started play fighting and nearly got barred from the cinema for life.

Really looking back at it, a very good defence would have been they should not have put on such god-for-saken boring movies which cause people to break out in riots :)

I think if it was, it was very limited. I think WB realized this was bad and just decided to ship it to video.

They only let it play like in one theater in Texas and someplace else. Pretty disappointing that WB would treat the movie like that. "Police Academy" has made so much money did them in the past. It's sad.

It was limited. The PA films have down pretty well in Europe, especially Germany. It did get a few theatrical releases there, I think it was only selected venues in the USA and Canada, but probably no more than a week. It was direct to vhs in Australia and New Zealand, and Japan karate kicked it so hard out of the country no one knew of it.

It played in LA as I still have a LA Times calendar section from August 1994 with a decent sized ad.
